Fei Luo • Co-Founder
Fei’s scientific research background is in biochemical engineering. She graduated from China’s Nanjing University of Technology with a bachelor's degree in bioengineering, and later studied for a PhD in chemical engineering at the University of Toronto. Before working on precision fermentation proteins, she worked on biological transformations such as microbial degradation of groundwater contaminants. This experience laid the foundation for the company’s current precision fermentation approach using plant-based raw materials.
Liven’s co-founder Dr. Pratish Gawand is an expert in bioprocess engineering. He previously founded Ardra, a flavor and fragrance synthetic biology company in Canada, and expanded the production of its products and found strategic users. Pratish is mainly responsible for the production process of Liven’s alternative protein products.
